Mn'JAM experiment is a collective led by M (the singer) and JAM (electronics/visual artist). This multi-medium performance places visual arts and music at the same level in an environment where performers' interactivity goes way beyond the usual instruments and music and reaches out to the visual and digital world.
If you zoom in on the music, you’ll find a mix between empirical and rationally constructed elements; between acoustic, electric and electronic instruments; urban rhythms and traditional melodies, vocal loops and guitar solos, turntables and acoustic drums.
Concentrating on the visuals, they are analogously a product of pre-composed material and live manipulation, mostly carried out by the guy behind the turntables. He is able to instantaneously control the images using the turntables and a series of pads and buttons thus not only syncing the visuals with the music in real time but also being able to improvise and “comp” visually on the spot.
The combination and correlation between sound and image makes this performance a clear-cut synesthetic experience.
In a nutshell, this project is shaping the future of performances when it comes to roles and possibilities within musical settings and is literally a groundbreaking platform not only in jazz but also within live music/performances in general.

Our CD/DVD combo is here on sale via PayPal. You just have to choose the artwork you like the most (the content is the same in both).
Mn'JAM experiment are very passionate about education and shedding light on every aspect of their performance, ranging from structure and concept to realization and execution (as it is briefly exemplified by this video →).
They very regularly conduct workshops centered around the topic "innovations in live performance" towards participants connected to art, technology and/or music where, besides talking about concepts and techniques, they also demonstrate and invite audience members to try it out themselves.
Since its inception, Mn'JAM experiment have been conducting workshops in jazz festivals (e.g. Mladi Ladi, Cairo Jazz Fest), Schools and Universities of Art and Music (e.g. BTK Hamburg College of Design, KJC Kathmandu jazz conservatory, The Conservatory of Music of Oporto).

Mn'JAM experiment released the official video clip of R2D2, the first tune of their CD/DVD "live with a Boom". This video clip is a quirky but instructive way of showing what is behind the question: "How would an algorithm made specifically to generate music hits function?"

At FlowerMusic school in Hong Kong, M conducted a live looping workshop. Participants were exposed to Mn'JAMs compositional concepts but mainly got a chance to learn how to use the loop station by trying it and start looping "stuff" themselves.
